• Resumen

  La historia de la historiografía sobre la Compañía de Jesús se ha convertido, en los últimos tiempos, en un campo de investigaciones prolífico. Este trabajo se plantea como objetivo presentar un estado de la cuestión de la historiografía sobre las expulsiones, la supresión y la restauración de la Compañía de Jesús que nos permita ver no sólo todo lo ya investigado sobre estas temáticas sino, sobre todo, lo que resta por explorar. Al mismo tiempo, concentraremos nuestra atención en los modos de supervivencia, a lo largo de los siglos, del proyecto historiográfico apologético jesuita. Desarrollado en los primeros años de existencia de la Compañía, éste fue no sólo la guía en la cual se basaron los historiadores de la Orden, sino que, en muchos casos, algunas de sus características pueden todavía observarse en varios exponentes de la historiografía profesional laica de la actualidad.

• Abstract

  The history of the historiography about the Society of Jesus has become, in recent times, a prolific research field. This article seeks to present the state of the art of the historiography on expulsions, suppression and restoration of the Society of Jesus, in order both to take a look at what has been written about it, and to understand what it is left to explore. At the same time, we will focus our attention in the ways the Jesuit historiographical and apologetic project survived over the centuries. Developed in the early years of the Society, this project was not only the model in which were based the historians of the Order: some of its features can still be observed in the professional and modern lay historiography.
